Hotel Symbola Bosphorus is divided in two old buildings with a great garden and Bosphorus views.
The top building is called Semiha Hanim Konagi (Lady Semiha’s Lodge). It was constructed by the Armenian Brothers Edvart and Savars Melikyan during the late Ottoman period as a summer residence. This was later bought by Semiha, Necati and their son Mahmut Efe Binici in 1988 and it was their home until 2011.
The other building is called Necati Bey Konagi (Sir Necati’s Lodge). It is in the lower area of the garden which faces the street Sair Necati (Poet Necati’s Street). Like the first building, this is a stone house with a pine wood inside and it was also built during the late Ottoman period.
Both buildings were restored and transformed into a boutique hotel which opened to tourism in 2012. The rooms are furnished and decorated in the Elite Ottoman Style, reflecting the traditional Turkish lodges.
Hotel Symbola Bosphorus has the honour of being the first tourist accommodation of Portakal Yokusu.
